DIFFERENT TYPES OF TEACHERS



Caselman makes the following division according to the different types of teachers:

Professor logotropo: is one who gives importance to cultural values, while trying to excite students with those same values. This type of teacher tends to be inclined to philosophy or science, but his fundamental pedagogical concern is to instruct.

Paidotropo teacher: is the one that leans towards the students. He is interested in instruction, but more in the formation of his disciples.

Adelaide Lisboa de Oliveira classifies them as follows:

The bright: he is more concerned about the effect it may have on his students than the educational progress of them.

The scrupulous: he is interested in the insignificant minutiae of the discipline or school regulations and, therefore, his vision is very limited.

The mere professional: gives classes to make a living, not caring anything else, so their action is full of ups and downs. Its objective is the economic one.

The euphoric: he judges excellent and in frank progress all his students.

The cavalier: is always behind in their school obligations, either in the development of the program or in the fulfillment of bureaucratic demands.

The depressive: always attentive to the negative aspects of their students and unable to see the positive aspects.

The poet: is always distant from the reality of his students and the conditions of teaching. This is because he sees everything through the prism of fantasy.

The distrustful: in all the manifestations of his students he sees acts against his person and his dignity.

The absorbent: it becomes attractive, expansive and bright. It seeks to arouse the admiration of its students.

The suggestive: would be the ideal type of teacher, if he were able to love and be loved. It instills ideals and vibrates before the good actions of its students; He does not fear that they will reach it or surpass it. It enables students to grasp beauty, truth, and goodness, which is their main objective.

The theorist: teacher of great culture, for whom educating is to instruct. Live for science He is cold and objective in his relations with the students.

The practical: teacher who seeks to achieve maximum results with a minimum of effort. He gives great importance to method and technique, since he is more interested in technical training than in the spiritual formation of his students.

The esthete: teacher who considers the formation of his students as the most beautiful work of art. He knows how to instill courage and form personalities.

The social: comprehensive teacher, patient and internally consecrated to his profession. It manages to instill family spirit among its students, and leads them towards a positive performance in society.

The authoritarian: teacher who is jealous of their authority and superiority in relation to their students. He is a supporter of severe discipline and is more concerned with imposing than educating.


The religious: careful and serious teacher, persuaded of his responsibility in the formation of the souls of his students, which leads him to be religious and severe in the pursuit of their good.
